Ebenezer Stone

Responsive Reading Based on Psalms 103:8-19

Leader:  The LORD is compassionate and gracious, patient, and abundantly rich in gracious love.
All:   He does not chasten continuously or remain distant for all time.
Leader:  He neither deals with us according to our sins, nor repays us equivalent to our iniquity.
All:  As high as heaven rises above earth, so his gracious love strengthens those who fear him.
Leader:  As distant as the east is from the west, that is how far he has removed our sins from us.
All:  As a father has compassion for his children,
Leader:  The LORD has compassion for those who fear him.
All:  For he knows how we were formed, aware that we were made from dust.
Leader:  A person's life is like grass—it blossoms like wildflowers,
All:  But when the wind blows through it, it withers away, and no one remembers where it was.
Leader:  Yet the LORD's gracious love remains throughout eternity for those who fear him.
All:  His righteous acts extend to our children's children,
Leader:  They extend to those who keep his covenant and to those who remember to observe his precepts.
All:  The LORD has established his throne in heaven and his kingdom rules over all

Opening Prayer

Bless the LORD, my soul, and all that is within me, bless your holy name.
Bless the LORD, my soul, and never let me forget any of his benefits:
Lord, You continue to forgive all our sins, You continue to heal all our diseases,
You continue to redeem our lives from the pit, and continually surround us with gracious love and compassion.
You keep satisfying us with good things and renewing our strength like an eagle's.
You, O LORD, continually do what is right, executing justice for all who are being oppressed.
Thank you, Lord, for your love and compassion towards us.
Amen!
