Responsive Reading Based on Psalm 100:1-5

Leader:  A Psalm for giving thanks.
All:  Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
Men:  Serve the LORD with gladness!
Women:  Come into his presence with singing!
Leader:   Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us,
Men:  We are his; we are his people,
Women:  We are the sheep of his pasture.
Leader:  Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!
Men:  Give thanks to him;
Women:  Bless his name!
Leader:  For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever,
All:  His faithfulness endures to all generations.

Opening Prayer

Dear God,
Thank you for your amazing power and work in our lives.  Thank you for your goodness and for your blessings over us.  Thank you that you are able to bring hope through the toughest of times, strengthening us for your purposes.
Thank you for your great love and care.  Thank you for your mercy and grace.  Thank you that you are always with us.  Thank you for giving us freedom and life.  Forgive us for when we don't thank you enough, for who you are, for all that you do, for all that you've given.
Help us to set our eyes and our hearts on you afresh.  Renew our spirits, fill us with your peace and joy.  We love you and we need you, this day and every day.  We give you praise and thanks, for You alone are worthy!
In Jesus' Name,

A Letter to God

“Dear Father God,
Before the world began, you knew me.  You created the world one day at a time and then you formed me in my mother’s womb at just the right moment so that I could become your child.
You gave me a purpose and a direction to follow, as well as strength to go through any unwanted circumstances that came my way.  I was not alone. You walked by my side and continue to walk with me every day.  My life has been changed because you love me unconditionally.
Your love reaches higher than I could ever imagine and your Spirit lives within me to continually guide me in the knowledge and wisdom from above. Romans 8:16-17 says, “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.  Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ….”
Thank you for saving me, and allowing your Son to die for me, so that one day I will be able to meet you face to face and spend eternity with you.  Your Grateful…Thankful…and Blessed Child”
What a wonderful privilege we have as Christians to serve a mighty God who tells us throughout His Word that He does care about us more than we could possibly imagine, and that it is important that we share that love with others and “make a difference in Jesus Name to all those who are hurting and who are unaware that they matter to God”.
Let us make a difference in someone’s life today.  May the Lord bless you, keep you, and make His face to shine upon you forevermore.

Scripture Reading Hebrews 13:1-3 (Easy to Read Version)

Continue loving each other as brothers and sisters in Christ.  Always remember to help people by welcoming them into your home.  Some people have done that and have helped angels without knowing it.  Don't forget those who are in prison.   Remember them as though you were in prison with them.  And don't forget those who are suffering.   Remember them as though you were suffering with them.

Scripture Reading Ephesians 5:19-20 (Easy to Read Version)

Encourage each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.  Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.  Always give thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Scripture Reading Colossians 3:15-17 (Easy to Read Version)

Let the peace that Christ gives control your thinking.  It is for peace that you were chosen to be together in one body.  And always be thankful.  Let the teaching of Christ live inside you richly.  Use all wisdom to teach and counsel each other.
Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  Everything you say and everything you do should be done for Jesus your Lord.  And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.
