Responsive Reading  from Psalms 121 (Easy to Read Version)

Leader:  I look up to the hills,
All:  But where will my help really come from?
Leader:  My help will come from the LORD, the Creator of heaven and earth.
All:  He will not let you fall.  Your Protector will not fall asleep.
Leader:  Israel's Protector does not get tired.
All:  He never sleeps.
Leader:  The LORD is your Protector.
All:  The LORD stands by your side, shading and protecting you.
Leader:  The sun cannot harm you during the day,
All:  and the moon cannot harm you at night.
Leader:  The LORD will protect you from every danger.
All:  He will protect your soul.
Leader:  The LORD will protect you as you come and go,
All:  Both now and forever!

Leviticus 25:8-11 (English Standard Version)

“You shall count seven weeks of years, ... forty-nine years.   Then you shall sound the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month.  On the Day of Atonement ... you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants....  That fiftieth year shall be a jubilee for you;

Colossians 2:12-15 (Easy to Read Version)

When you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and you were raised up with him because of your faith in God's power.  God's power was shown when he raised Christ from death.  You were spiritually dead because of your sins and because you were not free from the power of your sinful self.   But God gave you new life together with Christ.   He forgave all our sins.
Because we broke God's laws, we owed a debt—a debt that listed all the rules we failed to follow.  But God forgave us of that debt.  He took it away and nailed it to the cross.  He defeated the rulers and powers of the spiritual world.  With the cross he won the victory over them and led them away, as defeated and powerless prisoners, for the whole world to see.

Luke 4:18-19 (English Standard Version)

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.    He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
